Fast Dieting - Lose Weight Fast

Turn on the mental switch that says you are going to lose weight. You have to want to lose weight. If you don't want to lose weight, forget it. You can't do it for someone else. You have to want to do it for yourself. If you really care about your health, well being, longevity, personal looks, and your family, then you should have no problem turning on the switch.

Take some pictures of yourself. Put one somewhere so it is visible. If you dare, place it on the refrigerator door, or right inside the refrigerator. Keep some other pictures in a drawer for later reference of what you "used to" look like.

Close your eyes and visualize yourself at the weight you want to be. Do this for about a minute or so, every morning if possible. Self-visualization is an extremely powerful tool even if it seems a bit corny. Give it a try, everything is worth a try. Imagine what you will look like. Visualize your better overall health, the ease at which you will move around without getting out of breath, the less time spent at the doctors, the less pulled muscles, the less indigestion, the smiling looks when you walk by, the less sweating you will do, the lower food bills, the no-more bloated feeling, the forever gone feeling of guilt when you eat. And on an on and on. You are not losing weight for the sake of losing weight, you are working toward the experience you will feel after the weight is gone. The benefits are what it is all about. And you really won't know how great it is until you get there. It's like trying to explain the benefits of using a computer to someone who has never used one, and doesn't care to because they are afraid of the challenge. Once they experience it, they understand what it is all about.

Come and read the dieitng and weight loss information whenever you get the urge to eat. Try some of the suggestions, something will surely work for you. There are a lot of thoughts and ideas on what works and what doesn't, some even conflict. At least you will have all the opinions, and you can try what works best for you.

Start documentation: Make a daily log of the following:

  • Write down YOUR WEIGHT every morning - In fact, make a graph of your weight. Don't worry if you don't lose every day, scales aren't very accurate anyway. Besides you will hit plateaus, mini plateaus, even have weight increases when you thought you were good. Then all of a sudden you lose a pound or two. But more importantly, going through the mental exercise of evaluating where you are and plotting will stick in your head all day. Some people say weighing in daily is bad. I do not agree, I think if you are serious about weight loss you have to be a WARRIOR about it! Face up to the challenge and look it in the eye everyday. I have found that whenever I stop weighing myself everyday, I IMMEDIATELY start gaining weight. Plan to do this the rest of your life and you will succeed.
  • Write down EVERYTHING YOU EAT, everyday you are on the diet. You can count calories and all that jazz, but you'll know when you've been bad. Just write down exactly what you eat so you can look back on the day and see how you've done. AND if you've been bad on any given day, don't worry, tomorrow is another day. Never let a binge take you down. Be a warrior; get back on your feet and say "DAMN IT" and start again in the morning.
  • Write down your MINUTES. Minutes is the approximate number of minutes you were NOT on your butt. It might not be a very big number at first. Most of us spend time in jobs that keep us on our butt or in a still state. What this minute writing exercise means is that you are logging your activity level daily, and hopefully improving it. When you are sitting in front of the boob tube, think about how your MINUTES record could increase if you get up and clean up the room or garage or basement, or start one of the many projects you have on your 'list'. These don't have to be strenuous projects, but get active somehow! Walk the dog or your spouse or yourself. Go to the mall and leave all your money at home! Do something besides sitting. Your metabolism will increase, and you'll be distracted from being bored and looking for a reason to eat. When you log your minutes, you might also record your SUPER MINUTES. This would be the number of minutes per day you either did exercises or heart pounding work activities. Now, you don't have to run around with a stop watch - approximate the total minutes, but do log your long periods of activity. If you are conscious about this whole issue, and try to increase your minutes, very soon many jobs around the house or apartment will be done, and your weight will be gone.
  • Write down how many ounces of WATER you drank. You should take your weight, and divide it by two. That is how many ounces of water per day you should drink at a minimum.
  • Use nutritional supplements. At a minimum, take high quality vitamins. Additionally, there are a lot of diet products out there and many of them work for a lot of people. A lot of them don't work too. The problem is you don't know what really works. We offer some items on this site which are popular and have worked for others. They should work for you too.
